Pros and Cons of Living in Bakersfield in 2023

So, your chance of bumping into people who might know someone you know is 100% when you go out. Maybe your neighbor is some person who used to teach in the school and now your children play with each other.

Hence this idea of community will be disliked by someone who wants to live in a place where nobody knows them. Bakersfield is not a place for such people, and this may change your mind about moving there if you are one of such people.

Let’s discuss this in this way, A well-known football player Derek Carr from California, and his whole family live there in Bakersfield and the Carr Elite Football Program was first started by this family. This is the reason football is a very common street-playing sport in Bakersfield.

Other sports are also common there as Bakersfield is a sports hub. So, if you and your kids don’t enjoy these sports and like to stay lazy at home, you will surely dislike living there.

Also, sports can be a big reason for you to not relocate to Bakersfield if you are one of those persons who love and enjoy playing sports.

It sounds weird but let me explain it this way. Plenty of days are celebrated there regularly including Veterans Day, America’s National Independence Day, and Christmas Day. Parades are conducted on all these days along with the bands, the police, fireworks, and the firemen.

Besides this, the National Cemetery is also part of the Veterans and there are a lot of things to be celebrated in America which are celebrated in Bakersfield too.

This is the reason I mentioned earlier, that if you are not patriotic, this place might not be for you.

As per the Second Amendment, the right to bear and keep oneself armed for lawful purposes is preserved.  If you don’t like the Second Amendment, you may not like living there.

You can easily go with being on a budget to find your desired real estate. But if you don’t want to get a lot out of your investment and want to have a really high-priced space, Bakersfield is not for you.

So, If you like to live with similar people and don’t enjoy the company of people from various cultures, Bakersfield is the place you can’t live in.

Consequently, diversity can be a reason for you to like or dislike the idea of relocating and living in Bakersfield.

So, Entrepreneurial Spirit is very high among the people in Bakersfield. The people who like the same old routine with a nine-to-five job and don’t like to think or do anything out of the box, may not like it here.

It doesn’t mean that the standard jobs from nine to five are not available in Bakersfield, they did, but entrepreneurship is more common for growth purposes.

There are brands in Bakersfield like Bako Box, Sully’s, Rain-man’s Hobby, and Raceway, which started from zero and now have become big brands.

That being the case, people with less or no entrepreneurial spirit can’t last long there because of the fast-growing businesses there.

It’s fine to not like the vibe of thinking something new and working on it, out of your comfort zone.
